Dimitri Paile (1983) is a musician from Helsinki, Finland. He began his career in music with a supporting role and solo vocal performance in the musical Hype (1994–1996). His later audio adventures have included international touring, a performance on BBC radio, sound design for theatre, and bespoke composition for film and TV. Dimitri played drums on the award-winning album Climax by Beastmilk (2013), which was produced by Kurt Ballou.
Dimitri sharpened his craft as a composer during an artist residency at the Finnish Institute in Saint Petersburg, Russia, in 2017. He has attended a jazz vocal masterclass with Marion Cowings in New York City, and studied pop singing with Carolina Backman in Helsinki.
Dimitri explored the concept of “brain music” by sonifying EEG signals and manipulating sound by thought during his studies at Aalto University’s Media Lab.
Since the beginning of his career, Dimitri’s music has drawn on a wide range of influences, including Russian romances, 1960's Americana, and Western art music.
